About The Position

Clinica Sierra Vista is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (PA-C or FNP-C) to join their Pediatrics team. Clinica Sierra Vista is a large Federally Qualified Health Center with a 47-year history of growth and innovation, serving vulnerable populations with respect and compassion. They are accredited by the Joint Commission and operate 31 health centers in Fresno and Kern counties, offering a wide range of services including Pediatric Care, Adult Care, Dental Care, Behavioral Health, and more. They partner with local entities to address patient needs and are dedicated to providing exceptional care.

Requirements

  • PA-C or FNP-C certification
  • Ability to perform patient evaluation, including histories and physical examinations.
  • Ability to develop diagnoses or differential diagnoses.
  • Ability to order laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic measures.
  • Ability to participate in diagnostic maneuvers such as anoscopy examination, pelvic examination and pap smears, electrocardiography, chest x-ray interpretation, and drawing venous blood.
  • Ability to evaluate patients for medication utilization or other therapeutic or preventative measures.
  • Ability to counsel patients regarding health problems and treatment plans.
  • Ability to suggest and help implement referrals.
  • Ability to carry out certain therapeutic and preventive maneuvers including place and removing IUD’S, fitting diaphragms, suturing lacerations, and putting on casts for minor fractures.
  • Demonstrated good interpersonal abilities with patients and associates.
  • Ability to participate in clinical consultations and continuing education.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical services for patients, including patient evaluation (histories and physical examinations).
  • Develop diagnoses or differential diagnoses appropriate to patients’ complaints.
  • Consult with Physician when needed.
  • Confirm patient problems and order laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic measures.
  • Participate in diagnostic maneuvers such as anoscopy examination, pelvic examination and pap smears, electrocardiography, chest x-ray interpretation, and drawing venous blood.
  • Evaluate patients for medication utilization or other therapeutic or preventative measures.
  • Counsel patients regarding health problems, the usefulness of tests, and the essentiality of preventative and therapeutic steps.
  • Suggest and help implement referrals when indicated.
  • Carry out certain therapeutic and preventive maneuvers including placing and removing IUDs, fitting diaphragms, suturing lacerations, and applying casts for minor fractures, all in collaboration with Clinica’s physicians per privileges granted.
  • Participate in clinical activities in all clinic sites on a scheduled basis, similar to physicians.
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal abilities with patients and associates.
  • Participate in clinical consultations with associates and continuing education.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
