Provides medical care for pediatric general surgery patients across their continuum of care in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. The schedule is Part-Time, 20 hours per week, with specific hours on Monday, Thursday, Friday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and alternating Wednesdays. This role involves practicing health promotion, health supervision, illness prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and management of common health problems and acute and chronic conditions. The Advanced Practice RN will assess patients, order diagnostic tests and therapeutic treatments, synthesize and analyze data, and apply advanced nursing principles. They may also perform or assist with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within their scope of practice, participate in multidisciplinary rounds, and coordinate patient care with ancillary services. This includes coordinating operative care, managing pre-operative work-ups, post-operative care, and intra-operative assistance. The role also focuses on identifying and mitigating patient barriers to care, improving care through process improvement, and promoting quality and safe patient care in collaboration with other healthcare professionals. Professionalism, thorough documentation, preparation, and a culture of safety are emphasized. The position also involves attending committee meetings, educational functions, assisting with research project identification, and training learners. Patient care and education are provided according to the patient population served.
