About The Position

Join our team at Caring Hearts Clinic, which offers traditional family healthcare services and prides itself on being more than just a medical practice. This APRN position is part-time, 4 hours a day up to 16 hours a week, with great flexibility. CHC has been serving the community of New Port Richey and surrounding areas for over 5 years. It is a privately, physician-owned and operated practice specializing in primary care (including managed care and direct primary care) with a growing emphasis on prevention, chronic disease intervention/management, and DOT exams. Requirements

  • Florida Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner license required
  • FMCSA-approval to conduct DOT medical examinations
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a clinical/hospital setting
  • EMR experience required
  • Demonstrate the ability to assess the full scope of patient needs
  • Ability to build rapport with patients
  • Conduct courteous and professional manner
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Manage chronic conditions, evaluate and treat patient's medical needs, and work with a capable, compassionate team to improve the quality of life in the community.
  • Review and prescribe patient medications and order them when necessary.
  • Work independently with strong communication and collaboration under the direction of the Program Physician or Program Lead APRN.
  • Refer patients who require care outside the clinic's scope of practice.
  • Educate patients about health insufficiency and its complications.
  • Educate clients on pre- and post-treatment care for long-lasting results.
  • Offer DPC plans available at the clinic to clients.
  • Perform initiation of basic wound care.
  • Collaborate with referring physicians.
  • Record clear and accurate medical documentation in the patient’s medical chart.
  • Assist the program lead APRN with office coverage as needed.
  • Follow all applicable medical care regulations and safety protocols.
  • Perform DOT exams (if not qualified, obtain certification within one month).
