About The Position

Mat-Su Health Services (MSHS), a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), is seeking a compassionate and driven Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or Physician Assistant) to join our integrated care team. At MSHS, you’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a community-focused setting while working alongside a collaborative team providing whole-person care—including primary care, behavioral health, dental, and psychiatry services. Position Summary Under the supervision of the Medical Director, the Advanced Practice Provider delivers comprehensive, team-based primary care services to patients across the lifespan. This role emphasizes preventative care, chronic disease management, and integrated behavioral health collaboration.

Requirements

  • Licensed APRN (Family or similar) or Physician Assistant in the State of Alaska
  • Current DEA registration and prescriptive authority
  • Graduate of an accredited program
  • Ability to work in a team-based, integrated care environment
  • Ability to pass background check and meet credentialing requirements
  • BLS certification (or obtained shortly after hire)
  • Compliance with all MSHS policies and regulatory standards
  • Strong clinical judgment and patient-centered approach
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Commitment to serving rural and underserved communities
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic healthcare environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a community health center or rural health setting
  • Familiarity with underserved populations

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct primary care services in an outpatient setting
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions
  • Collaborate with medical, behavioral health, and psychiatric providers
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record
  • Participate in quality improvement and patient-centered initiatives
  • Support care coordination and population health efforts
  • Promote patient education and preventative care strategies
