The primary purpose of the Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the Department of General Internal Medicine, Consultative Medicine Section, is to promote and maintain the health of GIM patients across the care continuum throughout the institution supporting the outpatient clinics, inpatient consult service and as an acute response provider to patients in the Ambulatory Treatment Center (ATC). This role includes weekend and holiday coverage to support consistent 7-day operations. Ideal candidates must be able to work rotating 4—10 hour shifts, including every other weekend. This role will support inpatient and outpatient clinics, as well as ATC coverage. This is a 100% onsite position. The ideal candidate is a skilled and dependable Advanced Practice Provider with a strong foundation in General Internal Medicine and a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across ambulatory and inpatient settings. This individual demonstrates clinical excellence in assessing and managing complex chronic conditions and common acute or episodic illnesses, including complications related to chemotherapy and care of acutely ill hospitalized surgical patients, while communicating clearly and effectively with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams. The successful candidate is highly organized, practices with integrity and professionalism, and is comfortable working both independently and collaboratively to support faculty physicians, coordinate care, and ensure timely documentation and follow-up. A passion for education, research participation, and service is essential, along with a positive, solution-oriented attitude and a consistent commitment to teamwork, learning, and continuous improvement in patient care.
