The Float Advanced Practice Provider will join the Kentucky Primary Care Division and will float between different offices to assist with patient panel needs, out-of-office coverage, and leave coverage. The Advanced Practice Provider is primarily responsible for providing patient care services, including assessing, diagnosing, prescribing, treating, and educating patients. They work closely with physicians and other clinicians in a team approach to patient care. This is a highly visible position that is always responsible for creating a positive impression with patients, physicians, and other visitors encountered, both in person and on the phone. The role requires knowledge of advanced practice including anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, pharmacology and therapeutics, basic nutrition, behavioral factors, psychosocial/family systems, diagnostic testing, interpretation of results and clinical decision making, and alternative treatment modalities. Knowledge of medical equipment, common safety hazards and precautions, health promotion principles, and community resources is also necessary. A state license in KY and/or IN for the scope of practice is required.
