About The Position

About the Role At Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, our Advanced Practice Providers play a vital role in delivering compassionate, high-quality care to patients and families facing cancer. In this position, you’ll work with pediatric and/or adult patients across different stages of care—from prevention and early detection to treatment and survivorship. This is more than a clinical role—it’s an opportunity to build meaningful relationships, provide education and support, and help guide patients through some of the most important moments in their lives.

Requirements

  • License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York
  • Current Nurse Practitioner certification in New York State
  • Certification or eligibility for certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or other national certifying body recognized by Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA)
  • Certification or eligibility for certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Master’s degree in Nursing
  • As a condition of continued employment, incumbents must obtain certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within six (6) months of their appointment to this title.
  • As a condition of continued employment, incumbents must obtain certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or other national certifying body recognized by Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) within nine (9) months of their appointment to this title as required by Medicare
  • Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care, including health promotion, cancer prevention, and treatment support
  • Assess and manage both acute and chronic health conditions
  • Educate patients and their families to help them better understand their care and next steps
  • Offer counseling and emotional support during all phases of care
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to create coordinated care plans
  • Connect patients with additional providers and community resources when needed
