Gastroenterology - Advanced Practice Provider
About The Position
Carle Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join their growing Outpatient Gastroenterology team in Peoria and Pekin, Illinois. This is an established outpatient-only practice with a Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm schedule, with the opportunity to work 4, 10-hour shifts. Initial training will take place in Peoria, IL, and then transition to provide services in Pekin, IL. The GI Outpatient APP will perform H&P on new patients and see return patients for various GI conditions. Job functions include ordering and interpretation of labs/imaging results, prescribing medication, ordering EGD/Colonoscopy/ERCP/EUS, and following up after procedures to review pathology with patients. The role offers autonomy within a cohesive group of colleagues and supportive staff, with a fully integrated system using EPIC EMR for improved care coordination.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in nursing with Acute Care/Adult/Geriatric/Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Current Illinois registered nurse license and advanced practice nurse OR physician assistant licensure
Nice To Haves
- GI clinicals or work experience is a plus, but not required
Responsibilities
- Perform H&P on new patients and see return patients for various GI conditions including: autoimmune, hepatitis, viral hepatitis, IBS, Crohn’s Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, gastritis, PUD, GERD, anemia, dysphagia, pancreatitis, diverticulitis, celiac disease, EPI
- Ordering and interpretation of labs / imaging results
- Prescribing medication
- Ordering EGD / Colonoscopy / ERCP /EUS
- Following up after procedures to review pathology with patient
