About The Position

EmergeOrtho is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for a busy orthopedic urgent care. The role involves providing comprehensive orthopedic care, including imaging, rehabilitation, and pain management, under the guidance of supervising physicians. EmergeOrtho supports providers in using their full licensure in a fast-paced outpatient orthopedic setting with established training protocols and physician management.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited PA or NP program
Physician Assistant license required
Medical training from an approved program
At least two years of experience as a Physician Assistant
Good knowledge of medical office software such as but not limited to Microsoft Word, Outlook, and medical practice software
Familiarity with EMR programs
Knowledge of medical terminology
Excellent communication skills
Excellent documentation skills

Responsibilities

Patient evaluation by performing appropriate history and physical exams
Ordering laboratory, radiological and special studies
Performing diagnostic procedures such as, but not limited to, physical examination, phlebotomy, catheterization, joint injections, and aspirations and administering of vaccines
Performing therapeutic procedures such as, but not limited to, suturing of wounds, foreign body removal, I&D of abscesses, reduction of fractures and dislocations, splinting, casting, and injections
Assisting the surgeon in the OR as designated
Reading and interpreting imaging studies and laboratory reports
Initiation of life-saving measures as needed
Diagnosing and treating minor illnesses of employees of EmergeOrtho, P.A.
Telephone contact with patients as appropriate
Involvement in QI and research programs
Attendance at educational and department meetings
Intermittent OR, UC, and other clinic coverage required
