About The Position

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join its Inpatient Gastroenterology (GI) Service. This role involves providing comprehensive inpatient consultative care to adult oncology patients with a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions and treatment-related complications, including rotations to support patients requiring parenteral nutrition. The APP will work in close partnership with GI physicians, hospitalists, surgeons, oncologists, and multidisciplinary teams to evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients requiring specialized gastroenterology consultation. The position offers the opportunity to care for patients with complex gastrointestinal disorders, including complications related to cancer, immunotherapy, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and stem cell transplantation. Responsibilities include participating in daily consult rounds, coordinating care across services, assisting with diagnostic workups, and optimizing patients for endoscopic procedures while ensuring seamless communication with primary teams. As part of MSK's nationally recognized Gastroenterology Service, the APP will work with faculty to provide high-quality, evidence-based care to a complex patient population.

Requirements

  • For Physician Assistants: Graduate from an accredited PA program
  • For Physician Assistants: NCCPA certification
  • For Physician Assistants: Active NYS license or be qualified for state licensure
  • For Nurse Practitioners: Current New York State (NYS) RN and NP licenses/registrations
  • For Nurse Practitioners: Family Nurse Practitioner certification required
  • For Nurse Practitioners: Master's degree in nursing with prescriptive privileges (or eligibility)
  • Minimum of 2 years of inpatient APP experience preferred, ideally in gastroenterology, hospital medicine, oncology, surgery, or another acute care specialty
  • BLS certification
