About The Position

Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer or designee, performs evaluations, diagnoses, ongoing assessments, and treatment of individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, serious emotional disturbance, and/or developmental disabilities. Identifies client needs, makes treatment plans and referrals, and provides medication management and psycho-educational support in collaboration with existing medical staff and program; performs related work as required.

Requirements

• Master’s degree.
• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program or Nurse Practitioner that is dual certified (mental health and medical).
• Fully licensed in the State of Michigan as a Physician Assistant or dual certified Nurse Practitioner.
• Has Michigan Controlled Substance License.
• Current DEA license.
• Current MCCPA (PA) or ANCC (NP) certification.
• Must have a valid Michigan driver’s license.
• Current automobile insurance.
• Use of a vehicle during work hours.

Nice To Haves

• Three (3) years’ experience working as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (dual certified)
• Three (3) years clinical experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and/or developmental disabilities, including assessment, medication management, and crisis intervention in the outpatient or inpatient setting.
• Experience working as a certified Physician Assistant in collaboration with a psychiatrist.
