About The Position

Texas Digestive Disease Consultants (TDDC) - Southlake, a member of GI Alliance (GIA), is seeking an enthusiastic Physician Assistant (PA) to join their team in a busy Gastroenterology practice located in Southlake, TX. This practice, supported by GI Alliance's robust business and organizational infrastructure, allows clinicians to focus on delivering superior, individualized patient care in a dynamic private practice setting. The PA will work both independently and in conjunction with physicians, seeing approximately 14 new and follow-up patients per day. The role involves eliciting patient histories, conducting physical examinations, counseling patients and families, determining tentative diagnoses, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals. The practice fosters a team approach, offering training and guidance to enable the PA to expand their skillset and excel in their role. The PA will also be responsible for maintaining licensure and participating in continuing education.

Responsibilities

  • Elicit detailed patient histories, conduct physical examinations and document findings
  • Counsel patients and families on health conditions and treatments
  • Support, educate, guide office clinical staff (Nurses, MAs) and office staff (schedulers) in regard to patient care
  • Determine tentative diagnoses and order appropriate diagnostic tests, interpret pathology findings, imaging, laboratory and other results
  • Counsel patient and family on endoscopic indications, findings, potential complications and expected outcomes
  • Achieve proficiency in the practice and EMR
  • Collaborate with referring physicians and offices, hospitalists, surgical partners and other specialties for optimal patient care
  • Maintain in good standing licensure with the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners
  • Participate in all continuing education, training, and other requirements to remain in good standing for credentialing purposes at assigned medical facilities
  • Perform other duties as assigned
