About The Position

APP position available to work at the Clinic for Specialty Pain Services at Meadville Medical Center with Dr. Anthony Colantonio, board certified anesthesiologist and fellowship trained pain management physician in his 23 rd year of practice at the clinic. Patient population is comprised mostly of patients with chronic musculoskeletal pain, the majority of which involves spinal pathology. Other conditions treated include chronic neuropathic pain. Treatment modalities are focused primarily upon non-surgical management of pain including: Fluoroscopic and ultrasound guided injections by Dr. Colantonio Non-opioid medications Controlled medications (Management of controlled medications will be for established patients in the practice as the practice is closed to new patients requiring opioid prescriptions) The scope of the practice is expanding to offer regenerative treatments including prolotherapy and platelet rich plasma. The practice is an outpatient clinic with appointments scheduled Monday – Friday with no weekend hours required in the clinic. Clinic is conveniently located within a Meadville Medical Center hospital campus allowing quick access to OR and patient floors. Call is once a week and one weekend per month (calls for referrals taken with patient seen while admitted within 24 hours of the consult) Opportunity for APP to accompany Dr. Colantonio to the operating room for spinal cord stimulator implant surgeries. Responsibilities

Conduct new and follow up office visits consisting of detailed musculoskeletal and neuro exam
Order diagnostic imaging
Make referrals when necessary
Triage and return phone calls from patients
Submit electronic prescriptions and review the prescription drug monitoring program when applicable
Management of controlled medications will be for established patients in the practice as the practice is closed to new patients requiring opioid prescriptions
Opportunity for APP to accompany Dr. Colantonio to the operating room for spinal cord stimulator implant surgeries.
