About The Position

Collaborates with a team of healthcare professionals and support staff to provide primary care, ambulatory care, and clinical services, primarily to students of The Ohio State University. Consults and provides consultation with other health professionals within and outside the facility. Provides counseling for health issues and health education. Provides direct medical care to students in a healthcare setting. Performs procedures and other special tasks as approved credentials permit. Participates in program review and improvement activities. May assist in clinical research projects. Student Health Services is accredited by the Joint Commission and is in the Wilce Student Health Center, at the center of the Columbus campus.

Requirements

  • Master’s of Science Degree in Nursing or Master’s in Physician Assistant Science
  • Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program with prescriptive authority
  • Certification by National Nursing Organization (ANA, NAACOG, ANCC) or National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • License to practice and prescribe in the state of Ohio as a Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant
  • Current BLS-HCW certificate
  • Successful completion of a background check and health screening

Nice To Haves

  • 0 to 2 years of relevant work experience
  • 3-5 years’ experience in ambulatory care as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • DEA Certificate
  • Familiarity with an electronic health record
