About The Position

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) cares for patients within the scope of their training and approved agreement, as outlined by their governing board. The APP collaborates with other providers and staff to support efficient patient flow and patient satisfaction. The position is with a franchised American Family Care business location; job duties, benefits, and employment policies may vary by franchise.

Requirements

ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA board certification.
Active and current Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of practice.
DEA number and state-controlled substance certificate, as required.
Ability to multitask and work independently.
Qualified to treat patients aged 2 and up.
Excellent communication with staff, patients, and families.
Professional appearance and attitude.

Nice To Haves

One year of ER or urgent care experience outside of clinical rotations.
DOT Certification.
Primary care and urgent care experience.

Responsibilities

Perform complete, detailed, and accurate health histories; review patient records; develop comprehensive medical assessments; and order appropriate laboratory, radiological, and diagnostic studies.
Formulate medical and nursing diagnoses and institute therapy or referrals to appropriate health care facilities, agencies, community resources, or physicians.
Institute emergency measures, treatment, or stabilization for situations such as cardiac arrest, shock, hemorrhage, convulsions, poisoning, and allergic reactions.
Interpret and analyze patient data to determine patient status, management, and treatment.
Provide patients, families, and significant others with instructions and guidance regarding health care and health promotion.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
