About The Position

Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Willamette Valley Cancer Institute and Research Center - the largest private practice cancer care center in Central Oregon - is looking to add an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to their clinic in Eugene, OR. The APP will support our Med Onc Department in seeing patients, treatment education, and other general support to maintain the high level of care our community is accustomed to. While oncology experience is preferred, a heart of service and a desire to continue our mission will help you find success. The general salary range for this position at WVCI $90,579-$226,086. The actual hiring rate is dependent on many factors, including but not limited to: prior work experience, education, job/position responsibilities, location, work performance, etc. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for a productivity bonus of up to $18,000 annually, based on performance. Requirements

  • Nurse Practitioner Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.
  • This position is entry-level and typically requires a minimum of 0-3 years post MSN experience, preferably in the chosen specialty.
  • RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
  • Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
  • OR Physician Assistant Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) certification.
  • This position is entry-level and typically requires 0-3 years of experience as a practicing Physician Assistant, preferably in the chosen specialty.
  • Current state license as a Physician Assistant in practicing state.
  • Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
  • OR Clinical Nurse Specialist Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Clinical Nurse Specialist program.
  • This position is entry-level and typically requires a minimum of 0-3 years of post-MSN experience, preferably in the chosen specialty.
  • RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
  • Current state licensure as a Clinical Nurse Specialist.
  • Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care for individual patients.
  • Initiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family response within practice protocol; prescribes drug therapies per protocol/physician consultation.
  • Assists physicians and performs procedures as needed; conducts patient assessments and provides physician with information prior to seeing the patient.
  • Assesses patient/family needs and provides education.
  • Promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
  • Promotes/provides staff education.
  • Incorporates evidence-based research into clinical practice.
  • Knowledgeable of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements.
  • Completes patient charge tickets.
  • Provides case management for oncology clients and their families.
  • Serves as a resource person for the nursing staff by providing information being studied in clinical trials.
  • May supervise the activities of clinical nursing and support staff.
  • May mentor new mid-level providers
  • Other duties as assigned
