This role involves providing comprehensive wound care services. The ideal candidate will have a background in wound care or surgery, though training is available for suitable candidates. The position entails seeing approximately 12-18 patients daily, performing inpatient assessments for acute and chronic wounds, ostomies, and incontinence. Responsibilities include developing and implementing evidence-based treatment plans, ordering diagnostic tests, medications, dressings, and devices, and performing procedures such as wound debridement and negative pressure wound therapy. The role also involves monitoring patient progress, educating patients and families, documenting encounters in the EMR, and collaborating with the healthcare team. Participation in quality improvement and professional development is expected. Hyperbaric chamber experience is preferred but training is available. The position is primarily in an outpatient wound care clinic with potential for inpatient coverage. The role requires upholding the mission, vision, and values of OSF HealthCare.
