About The Position

The Human Services Department of Wake County is currently seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner, Midwife, or Physician Assistant) to provide health care to patients of the Women's Health (Family Planning and Prenatal) Clinic at the Sunnybrook location. This role involves screening, diagnosing, and treating patients, documenting all care in EMR, and providing preventive care, education, family planning care, prenatal care, STD care, and acute illness management. The provider will also offer support services to mental health teams for continuity of client care and perform procedures as indicated after appropriate training. Other duties include charge completion, answering patient phone calls, case management, care monitoring, quality improvement activities, consultation with staff, participation in staff meetings, and involvement in projects to improve community and individual health. Collaboration with the CHDP team for care coordination of foster children, teaching students and residents, and training new staff are also part of the responsibilities. The role may require some evening or weekend work, and participation in emergency preparedness and response operations is expected.

Requirements

  • As required by license
  • No specific experience required
  • Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant or Certified Nurse Midwife license approved by the NC Joint Subcommittee of the Board of Nursing and Board of Medical Examiners.
  • CPR, AED and DEA Registration.
  • Equivalent education and experience are NOT accepted

Responsibilities

  • Screen, diagnose and treat patients
