About The Position

This position is accountable for the provision of patient care and other activities as permitted by licensure and defined within Credentialing and Privileging documentation (hospital), Credentialing and Scope of Practice (Medical Group), Consultation and Referral Plan (DOPL) or other similar documentation as appropriate. As part of that patient care, this position is accountable to: deliver optimal patient care through effective clinical practice; education of the patient, patient's family, clinical staff, and others; consultation with other healthcare providers; and maintain current knowledge regarding options for optimal patient care and outcomes. As a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in Urology, you will work with a team of healthcare professionals committed to providing quality care and excellent patient experience. You will practice at St. James Hospital a Level 4 Trauma Center and our Butte Clinic. This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday, with no call and no weekends. Primarily a clinic role, with potential for some OR assist in the future. A physician is on site for support 4 days per month. You will provide care to a wide range of patients in a quickly evolving environment. You will be part of a supportive group with supportive staff and excellent physician partnership. Connections to St. Vincent Regional Hospital, a Level I Trauma Center, and other Intermountain Health hospitals are available. We have Life Flight services available 24-7-365 to receive & transport patients as needed. We offer comprehensive, specialty care, including da Vinci Robotics surgery. St. James is a faith-based, nonprofit provider and part of Intermountain Health, a nonprofit health system with hospitals in Colorado, Montana, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, and Nevada.

Requirements

  • An active Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) License by the MT State Board.
  • Prescriptive Authority by the MT state board of Nursing or Medical Examiners and DEA License.
  • Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association.
  • ACLS Certification within 6 months of employment (site specific).
  • Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health’s credentialing process.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically within a multi-functional team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable with their support primarily being virtual.
  • Go-getter mentality.
  • Passion for rural medicine.

Responsibilities

  • See and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
  • Verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
  • Manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
  • Document patient care, access needed information, medication preparation.
  • Lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients.
  • Bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment.
  • Walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment.
  • Push/pull gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items.
  • Navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).
  • Stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
