About The Position

This role is for an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (PNP-AC) on the Inpatient Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) team. The APP will provide care for patients undergoing cellular therapy for oncological, hematological, and other non-malignant disorders. This includes diagnosing and treating bone marrow failure syndromes, aplastic anemia, relapsed/refractory leukemias, immunodeficiencies, and certain genetic disorders. The APP will work as part of a team of providers and nurses, offering direct patient management such as evaluating patients, ordering and interpreting tests, developing diagnoses, and implementing care plans. The role requires effective communication with families, collaboration with physicians and nursing staff, and interaction with multiple subspecialties. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care, teamwork, and a desire to grow their advanced practice career in pediatric bone marrow transplant/cellular therapy. The APP will manage patients receiving bone marrow transplants or cellular therapy, working both independently and with physicians. Close patient monitoring is essential due to the complexity of diagnoses and treatment. Responsibilities include reviewing labs and imaging, evaluating complications, collaborating with specialties like intensive care and infectious disease, and educating patients and families. The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse I (APRN-I) provides comprehensive, evidence-based advanced practice nursing care, addressing patients' and families' physiologic, psychosocial, and developmental needs within a collaborative practice agreement. The APRN-I also participates in leadership, evidence-based practice/research, and organizational development activities with mentorship. Requirements

• Master's Degree required
• 1-2 years pediatric experience required
• RN compact license in their primary residency state or both MO and KS single state RN license if not residing in a compact state
• MO and KS APRN licensure required
• National Board Certification required for state licensure
• APRN board certification congruent with population and practice setting required upon hire
• Required Life Support Certifications required upon hire
• Acute Care PNP required upon hire

• DNP preferred for APRNs

Responsibilities

• Competently provides comprehensive, evidence-based advanced practice nursing care to address the physiologic, psychosocial, and developmental needs of patients and families within the framework of the collaborative practice agreement.
• Actively participates in beginning leadership, evidenced-based practice/research, and organizational development activities with the support and direction of an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse mentor.
