About The Position

This position is accountable for the provision of patient care and other activities as permitted by licensure and defined within Credentialing and Privileging documentation (hospital), Credentialing and Scope of Practice (Medical Group), Consultation and Referral Plan (DOPL) or other similar documentation as appropriate. As part of that patient care, this position is accountable to: deliver optimal patient care through effective clinical practice; education of the patient, patient's family, clinical staff, and others; consultation with other healthcare providers; and maintain current knowledge regarding options for optimal patient care and outcomes. When you join us, you’ll become a part of a top-ranked Children’s Hospital dedicated to our mission of “The Child, First and Always.” About this role: Opportunity for a Pediatric Psychiatry Advance Practice Provider to join our team of multidisciplinary healthcare professionals committed to providing quality pediatric behavioral healthcare. This APP will focus their practice in our adolescent partial hospitalization program, located on campus of our newly-built Primary Children’s Behavioral Health Center in Taylorsville, Utah. The Pediatric Psychiatry APP will generally work 40 hours per week, with expectation for weekday day shifts in the PHP, with opportunity to cover our inpatient unit six weekends per year. Requirements

  • 1+ year APP experience in a pediatric behavioral health setting
  • For Nurse Practitioners: PMHNP-BC certification required
  • For Nurse Practitioners: MSN or DNP with a Post graduate certificate in psychiatry/mental health (if primary specialty other is not psychiatry)
  • For Physician Assistants: Obtain and maintain a Certification of Added Qualification in psychiatry issued by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
  • For Physician Assistants: Complete An accredited doctorate level academic program for physician assistants approved by the division in collaboration with the board
  • For Physician Assistants: A post-graduate certificate program for physician assistants to practice within psychiatric and mental health care that is approved by the division in collaboration with the board; or A post-graduate residency in psychiatry and additional clinical practice or coursework in accordance with requirements approved by the division in collaboration with the board; and A minimum of 10,000 hours of clinical practice in mental health
  • Active, unobstructed Utah medical license (or the ability to obtain)
  • BLS certification and DEA registration
  • Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health’s credentialing process
