About The Position

The Advanced Practice Provider manages the medical care of their patients at Blue Stone Health & Wellness.

Requirements

• Education and licensure: Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. Valid and current license in the state of CA
• Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend instructions, complete short correspondence, and memos.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform mathematical skills necessary for medication administration, and other skills as needed.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Interpersonal skills: Demonstrate high level of interpersonal and communication skills necessary to consistently interact with patients, patient’s family, and staff members in a professional manner. The provider should be able to deal with unhappy patients or difficult situations, and always be professional and courteous.

Responsibilities

• Urgent Care services as needed
• Fill in provider schedule as needed
• Provide competent medical management of patient care
• Examine, diagnose, and treat patients
• Document carefully, accurately, and thoroughly all patient encounters in the EHR
• Order medications, treatments, etc. as needed
• Order and interpret routine laboratory and other diagnostic tests and X-rays as needed
• Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients, parents, or guardians as applicable
• Monitor patient’s condition and progress and re-evaluates treatment as necessary
• Refer patients to medical specialist or other practitioner when necessary
• Provide counseling, education, and instructions to patients according to their needs
• Provider charting should be completed within 24 hours from patient encounter
• Medication Refills and all other physician tasks should be processed within 24 hours
• Each provider is responsible to take call for their own patients after hours. If provider will be out of town or unavailable, it is their responsibility to arrange coverage with another provider
• All physicians must participate in Mid-level Provider supervision, as able
• Maintain patient confidentiality, following HIPAA regulations
• Abide by Blue Stone Health & Wellness policies and procedures
• Follow corporate compliance standards, carefully avoiding all forms of Medicare/Medicaid fraud and abuse
• Other duties as assigned
