About The Position

Kern Medical Surgery Center, LLC - Clinics Kern Medical, LLC offers a range of primary, specialty, and multi-specialty services including pregnancy care, behavioral health services integrated with county mental health programs, and a growing network of outpatient clinics providing personalized patient-centered wellness care. Kern Medical, LLC cares for 15,500 inpatients and 125,000 clinic patients a year. This position is for an Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) in the OB/GYN Clinic and is full-time. Bilingual skills are preferred.

Requirements

  • Must attach Graduate and Under-graduate degrees, DEA wallet card, current & valid Nursing State license, current BLS Certification and 3 Professional references.
  • Completion of an approved educational program for Nurse Practitioners; current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California which specifies that the individual is licensed as a Nurse Practitioner or Nurse Midwife.
  • OR Possession of a valid certificate issued by the Board of Registered Nursing authorizing use of the title Nurse Practitioner or Nurse Midwife.
  • OR Completion of a Physician's Assistant training program approved by the California Board of Medical Quality Assurance AND possession of a current valid certificate issued by the California Board of Medical Quality Assurance.
  • Possession and maintenance of a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) card, and must meet and adhere to all regulatory and hospital policies including those governing all employee health screening.
  • A background check will be conducted for this classification.

Responsibilities

  • Under supervision of a physician, to secure clinical data from patients; provides specified medical services to patients; manages certain patients in the Emergency Department; to be responsible for on-going management of selected groups of patients; and to do related work as may be required by the supervising physician within the scope of his/her licensure.
  • Interviews patients to obtain medical histories and performs physical examinations.
  • Orders specified diagnostic tests; diagnoses and prescribes treatment for common illnesses.
  • Performs screening or diagnostic procedures.
  • Educates patients about common medical, social and psychological conditions.
  • Performs other related services under the supervision of a licensed physician, as permitted by standardized protocols and within the scope of their licensure.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required.
