About The Position

The Medical College of Wisconsin’s Division of Geriatric & Palliative Medicine is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide specialty medical care within the Inpatient setting. This position is located at Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital and Froedtert West Bend Hospital. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team who will contribute to excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching. This role involves providing exceptional, compassionate, and collaborative care of palliative care inpatients, engaging and comforting patients and families. The APP will also assist in the coordination of care for patients seen by the Community Health Division Palliative Care Consultation Service in the Inpatient setting.

Requirements

  • Advanced Practice Nurse/ Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner Wisconsin RN License
  • Wisconsin Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber License
  • Nurse Practitioner Certification from a nationally accredited professional nursing organization - Adult-Gerontology Acute Care NP (AGACNP), Adult Care NP, or Geriatric NP highly preferred
  • Will consider certification as Acute Care NP and/or Family Practice NP
  • Physician Assistant Wisconsin Physician Assistant License
  • Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • BLS

Nice To Haves

  • Previous inpatient, acute care, & critical care PA, NP, or RN experience strongly preferred
  • Additional Certification in hospice/palliative care or oncology nursing strongly preferred
