Nationally certified Advanced Practice Provider who provides primary and/or specialty care in a variety of healthcare settings. Functions in collaboration with the health care team in accordance with certification and licensure. Practice emphasizes health promotion, disease prevention and the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic health problems. Responsible for dissemination of knowledge through instructing, leading and developing educational programs. The Department of Hospital Medicine is looking for an experienced APRN/PA to support Orthopedic care at Medina Hospital. This APP will work with Hospital Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery Service to provide comprehensive inpatient care with a primary focus on orthopedic surgery management. The APP works collaboratively with orthopedic surgeons, hospital medicine physicians, nursing staff, therapy services, case management, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality, efficient, and coordinated care to orthopedic surgical patients. The APP will play an integral role in the preoperative, perioperative, and postoperative management of orthopedic surgical patients, helping to facilitate patient progression from admission through discharge. Responsibilities include surgical patient assessment, postoperative management, coordination of care, daily rounding, discharge planning, and addressing clinical issues that arise throughout the patient's hospitalization. The role will also include discharge management of same-day orthopedic surgeries, ensuring patients meet appropriate discharge criteria and that all necessary discharge requirements are completed prior to leaving the hospital. Typical hours for this role are Monday to Friday 7:00am-4:00pm but may include occasional holiday and occasional weekend coverage.
