Cleveland Clinic's Cancer Institute is currently seeking a qualified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for an outpatient position with the Department of Hematology & Oncology at Weissman Cancer Center. This position involves treating adult hematology oncology patients, collaborating with staff physicians, and independently evaluating anemia consults. Additional responsibilities include managing patients who require symptoms management, assessment, diagnosis, orders, and bone marrow biopsies. The hours for this position are M-F 8am-5pm, with periodic weekend coverage and call after hours. APP experience is preferred, however, new graduates with experience in hematology or oncology may be considered. APRN: Nationally certified licensed healthcare provider who provides primary and/or specialty nursing and/or medical care in a variety of healthcare settings. Functions in collaboration with a physician according to an APRN protocol and specialty certification. Practice emphasizes health promotion, disease prevention and the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic health problems. PA: Nationally certified licensed healthcare provider who provides primary and/or specialty medical care (the practice of medicine) in a variety of healthcare settings. Functions within the collaboration agreement of a Physician, as per regulatory requirements. Performs complete histories and physicals on patients of all ages to establish and record patient's current health status and to develop a working diagnosis and treatment plan to provide continuing medical care, including daily examinations, writing orders, chart notes, discharging patients and completing discharge summaries. This medical care may be in a variety of clinical settings. PAs in the Hospital care role provide outpatient and/or hospital based care to patients (more than 50% of their time) with complex, acute, and chronic health conditions. Outpatient/Hospital care PAs practice in a setting that requires the performance of diagnostic and therapeutic interventions to manage acute and chronic health problems. Must have the ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams.
