The Inpatient Neuroscience Manager is a clinical and administrative leadership role responsible for oversight of APP teams across the NNICU, NIMU, and inpatient Neurosurgery services (6 Central and 6 West). This salaried position combines 70% clinical responsibilities with 30% leadership and administrative duties, allowing the APP Manager to remain actively engaged in patient care while supporting APP practice, team development, operational initiatives, and programmatic growth across the neuroscience continuum. Working closely with Neurology, Neurosurgery, and UVA Health leadership, the APP Manager is responsible for day-to-day APP operations related to patient care, staffing, workforce planning, onboarding, professional development, employee engagement, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement. The role also supports implementation of operational priorities, interdisciplinary collaboration, and continuity of care across inpatient neuroscience services. Coverage responsibilities include rotating shifts to maintain 24/7 APP coverage within the NNICU through dedicated day and night shifts, as well as day shift coverage seven days per week and evening shift coverage five days per week within the NIMU. The APP Manager also oversees Neurosurgery APPs supporting the Acute Care service and plays a key role in advancing clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and patient outcomes for patients with neurologic disorders.
