About The Position

Seattle Children’s is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) for a unique hybrid position that bridges inpatient epilepsy care and outpatient general neurology. Ranked among the top 10 pediatric neurology and neurosurgery programs in the country by U.S. News & World Report, our Neurosciences Center offers a collaborative environment where APPs play a vital role in managing complex neurological conditions.

Requirements

Master's degree in nursing with a concentration in a pediatric or family nurse practitioner program OR graduate of a nationally accredited physician assistant program.
One year work experience in a pediatric or family focused clinical area.
For Nurse Practitioners: Active, unencumbered registered nurse and advanced registered nurse practitioner licensure in the State of Washington. Current national certification as a pediatric or family nurse practitioner
For Physician Assistants: Active, unencumbered physician assistant licensure in the State of Washington Initial certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
Active Drug Enforcement Authority registration
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Professionals is required at time of hire and to be maintained continuously throughout employment. American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) will also be accepted in lieu of BLS for Healthcare Professionals.
Some clinical locations may require American Heart Association Pediatric Life

Responsibilities

Inpatient: Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) Unit Management: Partner closely with epileptologists to run the EMU.
Clinical Care: Manage admissions, daily care, medication titration/adjustments, and discharges for pediatric epilepsy patients.
Neuromodulation: Assist in the management of advanced devices, including VNS (Vagus Nerve Stimulation), RNS (Responsive Neurostimulation), and DBS (Deep Brain Stimulation).
Outpatient: General Neurology Clinic Panel Management: Maintain an independent outpatient clinic with a dedicated patient panel.
Clinical Scope: Evaluate and treat a variety of conditions, including first seizures, headaches/migraines, tics, and tremors.
Urgent Triage: Serve as the "Provider of the Day" to assist with urgent neurology triage and immediate clinical needs.
