About The Position

This role is for an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) working 0.9 FTE (36 hours per week) on the night shift (7p-7a) with the Oncology 2 and Bone Marrow Transplant teams. The APP will manage the care of patients on these services, working some shifts with Onc2 and some with BMT each week. The position is full-time benefits eligible and requires the provider to work nights, including weekends and holidays. The APP will provide healthcare requiring advanced formal education, certification, and clinical experience, practicing within their professional scope and promoting patient advocacy. A current Ohio Advanced License is required.

Requirements

Master of Science degree or equivalent provision, required.
Licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of Ohio, required.
Maintains national certification as APRN in the appropriate population foci for the position, or PA, required.

Responsibilities

Assesses patients and/or populations; develops, implements and evaluates plans of care; clearly documents and communicates information both in written and verbal forms.
Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to established guidelines and standards as necessary for the care of the patient.
Utilizing evidence based practice, serves as a clinical expert for policies, procedures, documentation, and skills.
Assists in the education, training and development of new and existing staff members.
Engages in the “community of the work unit” by staying aware of changes, participating in data collection or auditing, engages in Quality Improvement.
Leverages technology and informatics to optimize healthcare outcomes.
Commits to continued professional development of self and others.
Contributes to the division and/or specialty goals and the Hospital Strategic Plan.
