About The Position

Are you looking for a career as a Inpatient Cardiac Surgery - Advanced Practice Provider? Look no further than BJC! At Barnes Jewish Hospital you will have the opportunity to work on some of the most cutting-edge technology the market has to offer! This is an Inpatient Hospital Based Advanced Practice Provider role in acute care focusing on assessment, evaluation, and patient management. The APP functions within their scope of practice as a healthcare provider, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team to provide comprehensive care to patients and families. The role demonstrates a high degree of clinical expertise in working with patients with acute and chronic illnesses commonly encountered within the inpatient setting. This role demonstrates an advanced level of clinical knowledge, communication, interdisciplinary collaboration, professionalism, and systems-based practice. They work with administration staff, nurses, physicians, medical/surgical trainees, and other staff to assure safe, effective, quality patient care. The role requires coverage of evenings, nights, weekends, and/or holidays. BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant
• <2 years of experience
• No Supervisor Experience
• Lic APRN in MO-Board cert/elig

Nice To Haves

• Acute Care Certification
• Doctorate in Nursing or Physician Assistant
• 2-5 years of experience

Responsibilities

• Provides compassionate, appropriate, and effective patient and family-centered care for health recovery, illness prevention, treatment of critically ill, or end-of-life care.
• Responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, health promotion, and care coordination for patients and families with acute and chronic health needs in an academic inpatient setting.
• Communicates and collaborates effectively with patients, families, physicians, medical/surgical trainees, and other health professionals.
• Demonstrates the highest level of accountability for professional practice by participating in professional development, quality initiative/performance activities, and implementing standards of care within area of specialization.
