About The Position

This role involves a diverse practice combining inpatient care, outpatient follow-up visits, surgical first assist responsibilities, and procedure-based patient management. You will gain broad exposure to both emergency general surgery and elective surgical cases, including consults, rounding, triage, and operating room support. You will work in a collaborative team environment alongside three surgeons and two APPs in a well-established general surgery practice. This is a new graduate-friendly opportunity offering mentorship and hands-on surgical experience across the full continuum of patient care.

Requirements

  • Masters Degree Nurse Practitioner Required or Bachelors Degree Physician Assistant Required
  • 1 year of work experience Required
  • Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner Upon Hire Required or Licensed Physician Assistant Upon Hire Required
  • Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required or Advanced Cardiac Life Support Upon Hire Required
  • BLS and/or ACLS as appropriate for the clinical role. Upon Hire Required
  • Nurse Practitioner - board certified by American Nurses Credentialing Center Commission on Certification Upon Hire Required
  • Nurse Practitioner - Completion of an accredited program for nurse practitioners Upon Hire Required or Physician Assistant - Graduate of accredited physician assistant program Upon Hire Required

Responsibilities

  • Diverse practice combining inpatient care, outpatient follow-up visits, surgical first assist responsibilities, and procedure-based patient management.
  • Broad exposure to both emergency general surgery and elective surgical cases, including consults, rounding, triage, and operating room support.
  • Collaborative team environment working alongside three surgeons and two APPs in a well-established general surgery practice.
  • Flexible scheduling model with a mix of day, evening, and overnight coverage averaging approximately 36 hours per week across 15 shifts per month.
  • Mentorship and hands-on surgical experience across the full continuum of patient care.
