About The Position
Riverside Medical Group is currently seeking a Labor Pool Advanced Practice Provider to join our Emergency Medicine team at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Virginia. Our Emergency Department team delivers lifesaving care, 24/7 and 365 days a year, in five emergency rooms across southeastern Virginia. This includes the region's only accredited Emergency and Trauma Center located at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News. The emergency rooms at Riverside Doctors' Hospital Williamsburg, Riverside Walter Reed Hospital in Gloucester and Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital on the Eastern Shore of Virginia are supported by the same team of over 500 medically distinguished providers across nearly every specialty that support the flagship, Riverside Emergency and Trauma Center. A nurse practitioner assesses patients, diagnoses and treats illnesses, prescribes medications, orders diagnostic tests, provides health education, and manages overall patient care, often working in collaboration with physicians in various healthcare settings. Advanced practice providers will work in collaboration with physicians in caring for a wide range of emergency patients of all ages in multiple care settings. Opportunities are available to participate in medical education, clinical projects and on various committees.
Requirements
- Nurse Practitioner- master’s in nursing
- Nurse Practitioner License State of Virginia
- Nurse Practitioner Certification
- Physician Assistant - master’s degree
- Physician Assistant License State of Virginia
- Have a current, valid state of Virginia medical license or be eligible for one
- Have a valid DEA controlled substance registration
Responsibilities
- Assess patients, diagnose and treat illnesses, prescribe medications, order diagnostic tests, provide health education, and manage overall patient care, often working in collaboration with physicians in various healthcare settings.
