About The Position

The Advanced Practice Professional (APP) provides high-quality, patient-centered care as a member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team. Working collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, the APP assesses, diagnoses, treats, and manages patients within their scope of practice and area of specialty. The APP is responsible for delivering evidence-based care, promoting positive patient outcomes, maintaining professional and regulatory standards, and supporting the clinical, educational, and operational goals of the department and organization. WVUHS and the Department of Emergency Medicine seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP) to practice at Potomac Valley Hospital. This position is full-time. Requirements

  • PA or NP degree
  • Eligible for state medical license
  • Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing (for NP)
  • National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers (for NP)
  • Licensure, or eligibility for licensure, as a professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania (for NP)
  • CNOR Certification required (for NP)
  • BLS Certification required (for NP)
  • Bachelor’s Degree as Physician Assistant, or Master’s Degree as Physician Assistant required (for PA)
  • Graduate of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant (PA) training program required (for PA)
  • Certification by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants required (for PA)
  • Must be licensed or eligible for licensure by the PA Board of Medicine (for PA)
  • BLS Certification required (for PA)

Nice To Haves

  • Emergency medicine/ Urgent care experience preferred (for NP)
  • Emergency Medicine/ Urgent care experience preferred (for PA)
  • Additional Advanced Life Support training at the discretion of the department (for NP and PA)

Responsibilities

  • Practice in the areas of Emergency Medicine.
  • Providing comprehensive outpatient clinical care to patients in an emergency medicine capacity.
  • Establish preventive health practices for patients.
