About The Position

Baptist Corporate Health is seeking an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in Jacksonville, FL. The ideal candidate is expected to have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in an acute care, outpatient clinic or occupational health setting. The APP will have the opportunity to work within a fast-paced environment providing annual, fit-for-duty, and pre-employment physicals for corporate clients. The provider must be comfortable with women’s and men’s health, acute and chronic patients, patient follow-up, determining ability to perform job requirements and comprehensive wellness exams. Applicants should demonstrate proficiency with EMR, excellent oral/written communication skills and building rapport with patients. Knowledge of NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) guidelines and/or experience conducting fit-for-duty or DOT physicals strongly preferred. Provider will work 1-2 days per week on average. There is some flexibility with scheduling. Candidate must be willing to travel locally to the Baptist Nassau, Baptist Clay and Baptist South campuses.

Requirements

  • Certified ARNP, NP or PA
  • Licensed ARNP, NP or PA
  • Active/unrestricted state license in good standing
  • No current or pending malpractice lawsuits
  • Ability to make sound medical decisions based on a comprehensive evaluation
  • Experience providing pre-employment physicals
  • BLS Certification
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in an acute care, outpatient clinic or occupational health setting
  • Proficiency with EMR
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills
  • Building rapport with patients

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) guidelines
  • Experience conducting fit-for-duty or DOT physicals

Responsibilities

  • Obtains detailed history and performs physical examinations
  • Orders x-rays, electrocardiograms, laboratory tests, and other diagnostic procedures – interprets results and makes recommendations
  • Ability to function independently and exercise judgment in interactions with physicians, interprofessional care team and patients
  • Knowledge of (or willingness to learn) NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) guidelines and ability to reference the guidelines when determining fit-for-duty clearance
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians and co-workers in a manner consistent with a customer service focus and application of positive language principles
