The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works collaboratively with a team of three breast surgical oncologists to provide comprehensive care for patients with breast disease, breast cancer, and elevated hereditary cancer risk. This primarily office-based role focuses on breast surgical oncology, high-risk patient management, survivorship, hereditary cancer assessment, and post-operative care across the continuum of care. The APP serves as a direct patient caregiver, educator, and care coordinator, supporting patients through diagnostic evaluation, treatment planning, perioperative care, and long-term surveillance. The role includes participation in multidisciplinary breast cancer care and development of individualized prevention and risk-reduction strategies for high-risk patients. This position is primarily clinic-based, with occasional operating room coverage accounting for less than 5% of work time. Responsibilities include management of post-operative follow-up visits, hereditary cancer risk assessment, minor in-office procedures, and support of clinic staff and patient care workflows. Comprehensive onboarding, training, and mentorship will be provided to support success in the role.
