About The Position

The Breast Health Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) delivers high-quality patient centered care across the breast health continuum, including screening, diagnostic evaluation, risk assessment and survivorship. The APP collaborates with supervising physicians to improve access, care coordination and patient outcomes within a comprehensive breast program.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
  • Current license/registration to practice in the state of Florida
  • Prescriptive privileges or eligible to apply
  • BLS certification required
  • Clinical experience or strong interest in breast health, breast oncology, or women’s health oncology preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Leadership, analytical, and sound clinical judgment skills
  • Valid Florida driver’s license for travel between clinics
  • Certification from Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), or the Oncology Nurses Certification Corporation (ONCC).
  • Leadership skills necessary to direct others toward objectives that contribute to the successful treatment of patients.
  • Analytical skills necessary to evaluate patients’ status, health care procedure / techniques and to monitor quality of patient care.
  • Fiscal skills to monitor and control costs and revenue.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion while performing duties is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive breast evaluations including history, physical examination and risk assessment.
  • Evaluates and manages patients with abnormal breast imaging, palpable abnormalities and high risk conditions.
  • Orders and interprets diagnostic testing within scope
  • Prescribe medications and therapeutic measures per established protocols.
  • Coordinate breast cancer screening follow‑up, diagnostic evaluations, treatment planning, and survivorship care.
  • Evaluate patient eligibility for clinical trials, including breast cancer–specific studies.
  • Interpret diagnostic and laboratory findings related to breast oncology care.
  • Provide patient and family education regarding diagnosis, treatment options, symptom management, and survivorship.
  • Act as a central clinical resource for patients across imaging, biopsy, surgery and oncology.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and breast program accreditation.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary breast care conferences and rounds.
  • Supports establishing patient care for additional treatment options, as well as supports collaboration with physicians, nurses, navigators, and support services.
  • Document care, ensure timely follow up of abnormal results in alignment with MSQA and internal protocols
  • Supports collaboration with physicians, nurses, navigators, and support services
  • Assist with training, mentoring, or onboarding of new staff as assigned.
