About The Position

The University of Washington Department of Surgery, Division of General Surgery, is hiring a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide patient care at the Fred Hutch Cancer Center (FHCC) Campus. The position carries a faculty appointment as a Teaching Associate in the Department of Surgery and is expected to start in early 2027. Teaching Associate appointments are annual and align with a 12-month service period from July 1 through June 30; faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over the 12-month period, with the equivalent of one month available for paid time off. The position is regular and has a 100% FTE. The APP will join a multidisciplinary team of physicians, fellows, and registered nurses providing medical and surgical management. The role is fully deployed at FHCC and is scheduled for four clinic days and one administrative day each week: one day on the colorectal service and three days on the endocrine service. The APP evaluates and manages pre- and post-operative patients, addresses treatment toxicities, performs procedures, monitors for cancer progression or recurrence, and coordinates care with the treatment team. Clinical responsibilities are performed within the provider’s scope of practice and institutional privileges under the supervision of an attending physician. The successful candidate will contribute to the department’s commitments to research, teaching, and service in a diverse and inclusive academic community. The base salary is $10,834–$15,391 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Relocation assistance may be available for out-of-state candidates. The position is first shift. Applications are accepted through Interfolio, and the position remains open until filled.
