About The Position

Harborview Medical Center's Inpatient Addiction Medicine Team has an outstanding opportunity for an ARNP, Nurse Practitioner; or PA-C, Physician Assistant. The Addiction Medicine program offers medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD) to adults with opioid use disorder in primary care medical clinics, mental health and addictions programs, and hospital settings. The program is funded by the Federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Opioid State Targeted Response (STR) grant that was awarded to Washington State in the effort to better address the current opioid use epidemic.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing
  • Washington State Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner License with prescriptive privileges
  • License to practice as an RN in Washington State
  • National certification as a Nurse Practitioner
  • BLS certification
  • Licensure as a Physician’s Assistant in the State of Washington
  • National certification from a national certifying body (NCCPA)
  • Applicant must be eligible to receive hospital staff appointments for adjunct staff membership by the Organized Medial Staff of the hospital under Medical Staff By-Laws for hospital-based positions

Responsibilities

  • Working within a multiple disciplinary consult service with a special emphasis on treating OUD
  • Supporting patients as part of a team and independently
  • Counseling and advising patients on medications for OUD
  • Supporting discharge planning
  • Cultivating pathways for new processes as needed
