About The Position

The Division of Academic Specialists in Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology has an opening for a 0.2 part-time faculty at the rank of Adjoint Assistant Professor for a Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) to provide inpatient clinical care in obstetrics and gynecology as a member of the University’s Women Care (UWC) practice. Inpatient duties include working on labor and delivery one night a week managing obstetric and postpartum patients. This job involves the education of residents, advanced practice providers, and/or medical students. There is a potential for outpatient work although emphasis will initially be on inpatient practice.

Requirements

  • DNP/PhD or equivalent experience
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing or midwifery
  • Active AMCB certification
  • Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Colorado
  • Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Colorado
  • Prescriptive authority required.
  • Must have Colorado licensures registered with DORA (Department of Regulatory Agencies) by date of hire.
  • Seven (7) or more years clinical experience in practice as a CNM in Obstetrical/Gynecological care
  • Demonstrates meritorious or excellent achievements in several of the following areas: teaching, clinical activity, research, service, and scholarship
  • Experience as a clinical educator
  • Utilize limited obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound skills
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care to low and high-risk patients as part of a collaborative team.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and committees as able
  • Participate in research, as desired.
  • Obtaining patient histories, physical examination, and the assessment and development of appropriate plans of care in the Ob-Gyn clinical setting.
  • Effective communication, both orally and in writing, with primary care providers, specialists, and team members to meet the comprehensive needs of patients.
