About The Position

UBMD Neurology is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (APP) to provide outpatient clinical care in the Movement Disorders division. The APP will collaborate with Movement Disorders Neurologists and the current division APP. This role is critical in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, planning, and management of neurologic disorders within the sub-specialty. Key duties include performing botulinum toxin injections for post-stroke spasticity and dystonia, performing diagnostic skin biopsies, and programming Deep Brain Stimulator (DBS) systems. The APP will also serve as a sub-investigator on active clinical trials in Movement Disorders. The ideal candidate will value collaboration, be forward-thinking, and be dedicated to delivering high-quality care to individuals with movement disorders.

Requirements

  • Currently licensed as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of New York.
  • Possess excellent clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with documentation in an electronic medical record.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with the neurologic population is preferred, but training is also provided.
  • Experience working on clinical trials is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide outpatient clinical care in the Movement Disorders division.
  • Collaborate with Movement Disorders Neurologists and the current division APP.
