About The Position
Join INTEGRIS Cardiovascular Physician's Advanced Cardiac Care team on the campus of INTEGRIS Health Baptist Medical Center, NW Oklahoma City. This full-time APP position enjoys a typical Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm schedule with rotating call. As Oklahoma's only comprehensive advanced cardiopulmonary care program, our services include: ECMO, handling heart failure, heart transplant, lung transplant and pulmonary hypertension. The Advanced Practice Provider (ICP) provides medical consultation, routine patient care, and follow-up to specialty populations. This is a professional level position working under limited direction in coordination with Medical Providers. Typical work requires specialized knowledge, critical thinking, and sound judgement based upon principles of biologic, physiological, behavioral and sociological sciences skills, as well as strong customer service skills. Internal interdisciplinary and external communication skills are essential. This position requires population specific competencies. Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on the level of patient contact this position requires.
Requirements
- Requires a degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program or accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current Acute Care certification required.
- Current licensure as a Physician Assistant or APRN in the state of Oklahoma.
- Requires current BLS certification.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
- If the position requires occasional travel, the incumbents must be able to operate an INTEGRIS-owned vehicle OR personal vehicle (non- INTEGRIS-owned) and therefore must have a current Driver's License from the state of residence, as well as a driving record which is acceptable to our insurance carrier.
Responsibilities
- Initiates and completes detailed patient assessment including diagnoses the actual or potential health problem or need, based upon an analysis of the data collected, and plans therapeutic intervention.
- Orders and initiates appropriate laboratory tests, radiological examinations, other routine diagnostic procedures, medication, treatment, and consultation based upon an analysis of the data collected.
- Educates the patient regarding prescribed treatment and medication(s).
- Maintains timely documentation of the patient's medical record under the direction of the physician responsible.
- Outreach clinic responsibilities based on program/clinic needs
- On-call responsibilities based on program/clinic specific needs
- Regulatory compliance based on specific program/clinic requirements. This includes Quality & Multidisciplinary Team engagement.
- On-going competencies for equipment and procedures based on program/clinic specific needs
- Reports to the supervising Manager/Director.
