About The Position
Centurion is the new provider of comprehensive healthcare services to the Illinois Department of Corrections. This full-time Advanced Practice Professional (NP/PA) position is located at the Western IL Correctional Center in Mt. Sterling, IL, with a focus on Women’s Health. The role involves working under the supervision of a physician in a correctional environment, assisting in the delivery of health care and patient care management. Key responsibilities include collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, performing assessments, diagnosing patients, and medication management. The position offers unique benefits of correctional healthcare such as a clinically interesting and diverse patient population in a secure setting, freedom from insurance/coding hassles, ability to spend time with patients without cancellations, consistent salary not based on patient volume, and no requirement for employment contracts or non-compete agreements. Starting salary is $66 per hour, with higher pay for experience, and a $5,000 sign-on bonus.
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted Illinois NP/PA license
- Ability to pass background check
- 2+ years experience working as an NP/PA
- Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration
