About The Position

Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers (RMCC), Colorado's largest and most comprehensive provider of cancer care, has an exciting opportunity for a part-time (20 hours/week) APP to do hospital rounding. Taking care of cancer patients is a calling and more than a job. Requirements

  • Nurse Practitioner: Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Minimum of one year of experience as a practicing Nurse Practitioner.
  • 3-5 years in either in-patient or ambulatory oncology setting.
  • RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
  • Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
  • Physician Assistant: Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) certification.
  • At least one year of experience in either a critical care environment, internal medicine, or oncology.
  • Current state license as a Physician Assistant in practicing state.
  • Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires the ability to bend, stoop, twist; assist patients in moving; assist patients in arising from exam table or bed; push wheelchair patients; assist patients in arising from and returning to wheelchair.
  • Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
  • Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment.
  • Must pass a background check and non-federal drug test (which excludes marijuana) post offer of employment and prior to hire.

Responsibilities

  • Rounding at North Suburban and St. Anthony North.
  • Performing pertinent patient examinations and clinical evaluations.
  • Managing clinical care.
  • Ordering and reviewing diagnostic studies.
  • Ordering and monitoring medications.
  • Participating in the short-term and long-term planning of patient care along with the physician team.
