About The Position

Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers (RMCC), Colorado's largest and most comprehensive provider of cancer care, has an exciting opportunity for a part-time (20 hours/week) APP to do hospital rounding. Taking care of cancer patients is a calling and more than a job. Requirements

Nurse Practitioner: Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.
Minimum of one year of experience as a practicing Nurse Practitioner.
3-5 years in either in-patient or ambulatory oncology setting.
RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
Physician Assistant: Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
Current NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) certification.
At least one year of experience in either a critical care environment, internal medicine, or oncology.
Current state license as a Physician Assistant in practicing state.
Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
Requires the ability to bend, stoop, twist; assist patients in moving; assist patients in arising from exam table or bed; push wheelchair patients; assist patients in arising from and returning to wheelchair.
Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs.
Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment.
Must pass a background check and non-federal drug test (which excludes marijuana) post offer of employment and prior to hire.

Responsibilities

Rounding at North Suburban and St. Anthony North.
Performing pertinent patient examinations and clinical evaluations.
Managing clinical care.
Ordering and reviewing diagnostic studies.
Ordering and monitoring medications.
Participating in the short-term and long-term planning of patient care along with the physician team.
