About The Position

The Advanced Practice Nurse provides pediatric care through well-child exams, sick visits, and follow-up evaluations. The role includes obtaining medical histories, conducting physical examinations, diagnosing and managing common pediatric conditions, and ordering and interpreting laboratory and diagnostic studies. The nurse prescribes medications and develops treatment plans within their scope of practice, monitors growth, development, immunization, and preventive care needs, and provides patient and parent education, anticipatory guidance, and counseling. The role also identifies conditions requiring referral, maintains timely and accurate medical records, and collaborates with physicians, nurses, and medical assistants to ensure high-quality patient care.

Requirements

• Master of Science in Nursing or DPN from an accredited program.
• Current unrestricted New Jersey RN state license and APN certification.
• Board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP).
• Active DEA registration or eligibility.
• Strong knowledge of pediatric preventive care, immunization, and developmental milestones.
• Excellent clinical judgment.
• Excellent clinical and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• At least 2 years of pediatric experience in an outpatient clinic or urgent care setting is preferred.
