The Advanced Practice Clinician (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Certified Nurse Midwife, and other licensed providers) will function as part of a healthcare team to provide care under the medical supervision of the Medical Director in accordance with PPFA and PPNorCal Medical Standards and Guidelines and all relevant federal, state, and local regulations. This role involves working in the health center providing comprehensive clinical sexual and reproductive health care services to all patients in accordance with evidence-based practice protocols. The clinician will obtain health histories, perform physical exams, manage common deviations from normal, provide preventive care, order and interpret lab tests, perform ultrasounds, screen for contraceptive contraindications, provide contraception, test and treat STIs, provide PrEP and nPEP, offer basic infertility services and menopause management, provide medication abortion and early pregnancy complication management, assess and manage complications from in-clinic abortion and vasectomy, and provide gender-affirming care. The position also requires constructing accurate assessment and treatment plans, providing reproductive health maintenance, education, and counseling, ensuring complete and accurate medical documentation in the EHR, and functioning as a medical resource for health center staff. The clinician will participate in health center efforts to achieve productivity goals, potentially participate in research studies, and exercise a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
