About The Position

General Motors is seeking an experienced engineer to join its Advanced Optical Sensor Team, focused on camera and lidar technologies for automated vehicles and ADAS. The role leads development testing of optical components and modules, including accelerated technology introduction, requirements definition, design evaluation, analysis, development, and testing. It involves independent technical judgment, technical direction of engineering support personnel, and management of multiple complex projects. The position emphasizes camera technologies, including imagers, image signal processing, lens design, and packaging. The engineer works with cross-functional engineering teams and suppliers to develop components and systems, supports new camera and lidar technology, evaluates image quality and sensor interfaces, and develops test tools, procedures, and laboratory capabilities. The role also documents test results, procedures, best practices, and safe operating guidance. General Motors describes its vision as a world with Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions, and Zero Congestion, and states its commitment to inclusion, belonging, and equal employment opportunity. Benefits information is available through GM Total Rewards resources; specific benefits are not listed in this posting.
