Requirements

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering, science field; or Currently an Advanced Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer at the Company.
  • All candidates must be U.S. citizens.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matter.
  • All candidates must be able to pass a drug test in compliance with FMP company policy and 10 CFR 707.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong academic performance.
  • PhD from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field.
  • Ability to work on an individual assignment as well as being a member of a small team.
  • Experience working in a team environment with interface groups such as mechanical design, manufacturing, and test/experiment design and execution.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) tools, design drawings and/or manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in writing technical reports or engineering evaluations.
  • Previous co-op or intern experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to be trained to learn new skills as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Design, analysis, and testing of new naval nuclear propulsion components and technologies
  • Development of improved manufacturing processes to improve cost and decrease development span times
  • Component/system design, analysis, and support of primary and secondary system development
  • Integration of the mechanical work with the broader reactor plant design team (including electrical, thermal, structural, performance, and nuclear engineers)
