Advanced Measurement Str Data Recording Summer Intern (Onsite)

RTXMiddletown, CT
$37,000 - $82,000Onsite

About The Position

Support an Internship Role within the Advanced Measurements and Structural Data Recording Operations department within Development Operations (DO). Perform a wide variety of technical tasks in support of engine instrumentation and test facility readiness for development and production testing. Structural Data Recording (SDR) supports engine test and assembly by configuring a high-speed data system to acquire stand acoustics and structural data from sensors installed on engine hardware and in the test cell, ensuring clean high quality data via real-time monitoring, identifying issues, and troubleshoot/repair sensors and wiring. These tests occur in our onsite engine and rig test cells, as well as at customer sites around the world. Advanced measurements comprises of Non-Interference Stress Measurement System (NSMS), Proximity, and Blade Tip Clearance. These technologies require our team to be immersed in the design, fabrication, calibration, and installation of these sensors during engine design, assembly, and test phase. Tasks include consultation with engineering and customer groups to establish requirements, mechanical and electrical installations, troubleshooting and calibration of devices in the test facility or lab, and running specialized data acquisition systems during validation testing. This position involves a high degree of interaction supporting both test engineering and operations groups requiring effective verbal and written communication skills. A strong emphasis is placed on dedication, innovation, collaboration, resourcefulness, and attention to detail. This organization supports testing and field operations across multiple company and customer sites throughout the US and the world.
