Your Impact The Advanced MCE Wind Technician in the Main Component Exchange (MCE) division will act as a lead team member to support and supervise field work on-site focusing on Safety, Quality, and Efficiency. Deep platform expertise across Vestas, Acciona, and Siemens Gamesa systems required, including advanced diagnostics, major component exchange leadership, and site-level technical decision authority. The position is 100% travel.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of direct product experience on Vestas, Acciona or Gamesa Platforms.
  • Direct turbine specific experience is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics by various Wind Turbine manufacturers.
  • Main Component Exchange (MCE) experience required with additional knowledge in lifting operations.
  • Hold specific turbine manufacture certifications.
  • Detailed knowledge and skill in generators, converters, controllers, and electrical equipment.
  • Ability to recognize potential issues and major faults.
  • Must be proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English to safely perform job duties, interpret technical instructions, and communicate effectively with team members and customers. Interpreter services are not available for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Lead team members by supporting lifting operations of equipment at heights over 250’.
  • Oversee lifting operations following skills verification of large components and ability to create, review, correct, and amend lifting plans.
  • Conduct safe and efficient repairs to all Wind Turbine electrical systems.
  • Perform Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) of equipment as an Authorized Person.
  • Conduct pre-task planning, Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs), and Risk Assessments (RAs), and daily safety discussions.
  • Interact with vendors and customers in a professional manner.
  • Properly document all work in a variety of electronic formats and provide feedback to the Safety and Quality department for business improvements.
