About The Position

This role leads the operational excellence and execution in their assigned manufacturing area, ensuring a safe, clean, and healthy work environment for all work team members. They are the subject matter expert in the manufacturing process(es) and product(s) that flow within their scope. They are responsible for the mentorship of their team and continuous improvement in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Gas Department: This role is in charge for our calibration gas filling department. It requires movement and processing of compressed tanks with our automated fill table. Additionally, the role achieves same-day ship custom fills and stocking our standard gases. Constructive interaction with multiple support functions is essential to success, specifically with materials, shipping, client care, and our service dept. This role relies heavily on the following disciplines described below, work center lead, technical lead in advanced manufacturing, and quality assurance. Previous experience with compressed gas chemistry and processing best practices is highly desired to not only manage our department’s gas filling processes, but also ensure instrument verification, QA/QC protocols, certification and equipment troubleshooting. We are willing to train candidates with strong metrology or chemical engineering backgrounds.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Previous advanced manufacturing or related industry experience (required).
  • Completion of on-the-job training may be substituted for educational requirements.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Team oriented with a “can do” mindset.
  • Excellent organizational skills, communication skills, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills, with proven ability to work independently and deliver results.
  • Strong critical thinking ability with analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to achieve additional specific training and certifications for specific disciplines within the role, for example Training Within Industry.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree OR completion of related apprenticeship program (preferred).
  • Electronics manufacturing experience (preferred).
  • Industry 4.0 technology, automation, programming, and/or other digital skills applicable to manufacturing.
  • Previous experience with compressed gas chemistry and processing best practices is highly desired.
  • Strong metrology or chemical engineering backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, calibrate, and test various parts used to build gas detectors and other electronics/accessories related to gas detection.
  • Motivate team to execute and improve as expected through ideation and mastery/knowledge.
  • Ensure quality and productivity by evaluating and following production processes and instructions.
  • Track and maintain data logs for production, losses, inventories, documentation, and reports including those outlining procedures, batch records, inventory, productivity, changeover, and progress.
  • Deliver daily improvement with overall return-on-investment over time.
  • Assist engineers with tasks related to development, construction, and evaluation of prototypes, products, processes, and/or procedures.
  • Technical troubleshooting of processes, equipment, and products.
  • Mentor, train, and develop fellow team members.
  • Recommend and implement solutions within designated area of responsibility.
  • Identify ways to reduce waste and improve business processes.
  • Lead/Facilitate problem solving and improvement activities.
  • Build connections as needed externally with vendors, suppliers, internal customers, etc. and represents CTI effectively.
  • Perform essential duties of production technician and assembler, plus other duties as assigned.
